Those who fear power are those who are corrupted by it - the weak.

I have no faith! :-) When this age ends a new age will come. The transition always results in loss of human life.

Lol i wouldn't say beneficial in the true sense of the word, but it could help them achieve their means. It's sad that we're so cynical. I have faith in humanity to improve itself in the future, I hope my trust isn't misplaced.

Yes, I agree that only limited nuclear warfare is beneficial - perhaps as a precedent for a new policy, war, or such.

I know a limited nuclear war could happen, but a global nuclear war that would destroy human civilization probably won't. It's not in the interest of the countries who could do it. Limited warfare is profitable for them, a global nuclear one isn't. I don't think that if we make it to the next level we would recognize the new order of things, however it would be better than the alternative of anarchy.

If you believe in such things then you also believe that these groups control the media and thus your perception of life. The "religious zealot" statement confirms that they have influenced your thoughts well. It does not matter if something is nuked or just blown up, it can benefit them if they want it to.

I'd agree with you on leaders being puppets, however the puppeteers are usually major corporations. I think our biggest hope for the survival of the world is that nuclear war is not good for business. Major companies want globalisation to occur so they can make more money, so the lobby groups will support this position. I don't see another major war on the horizon, the only real factor now is pollution and extremism. These are the major risks. If we get a religious zealot with a nuke, watch out
