From an old VHS tape rotting away in the corner... The Kinks - Soap Opera May 7-9, 1975 - Beacon Theatre, New York, NY According to Doug Hinman's fantastic book "The Kinks - All Day and All of the Night" (buy it!): "One show from the three-night run is videotaped in black and white by RCA Records. This is transferred to 16mm film and (was) released theatrically in the US for a limited time from July. But it is eventually pulled after an objection by the band and because of the film's poor visual quality." Ordinary People (reprise) Sunny Afternoon GOD SAVE THE KINKS!

What an amazing show Soap Opera was. The KinKs never cease to amaze me and have never disappointed me from 1964 through the solo careers of both Ray and Dave to this very day. God save the KinKs forever. Frank Lima - A Montvale, New Jersey Hillbilly Boy.

Dave has sang on quite a few kinks songs actually. in my opinion some of his best ones were Strangers, Trust your heart, and Rats. he has a powerfull voice while ray has a smoother voice.. both awsome.

Please put more of that up! Theres not enough out there of the Kinks from like 72 to 76 when they did all the theatrical stuff. Ray Davies is a fantastic songwriter and Dave's guitar puts it all together. Enjoyed much.

What a great rare video. So happy to watch this. Nearly unbelievable. I haven´t seen much of this phase of the kinks on video, telly or film. Thanx

In Ray's book, he says that Dave is his favorite guitar player after Hendrix, so I'm sure he's given him his props!

yeah, Dave has a great voice, a bit high, but it is great. I love when He and Ray sing harmonies together, it sounds like they create a "Kink" man, i.e. a fictional singer. Like in "Lola", I used to think that it was one person singing some of the parts and later discovered that it was harmonies from Ray and Dave.

Dave is great. So is Ray. David's hair is magnificent. Reminiscient of the late, great Mark Feld. I am certain that Dave like all of his contempories were influenced, not only in their hairstyles but their music by Marc. However, Ray is special just like Marc. Classic English pop/rock.

You speak the truth. GOD SAVE THE KINKS! What I wouldn't give for a Dave Davies Band show right about now...
